Mindfulness with Emma
What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention on purpose to what is happening in the present moment, with non-judgment and kindness. Terms associated with being mindful include ‘what’s here in this moment’ and ‘being with’, ‘using your senses to come into the present moment.’
When we have the capacity to recognise what’s here in this moment such as anger, frustration, sadness or self-doubt we allow a space to open up for us to take more control of what we feel or what we think about in the next moment.
We can respond in ways that are more creative and kinder to the mind, the body and soul, and to other people.
We are empowered to be an active agent in our own lives, not merely a bystander to what’s happening.
